Cookie Policy
How we use cookies on this website and how you stay in control of them.
Last updated: 11 July 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies (such as local storage or pixels) work in comparable ways. They allow a site to work, to remember your choices, or to collect statistics. This policy also covers those similar technologies, which we refer to collectively as “cookies”.
2. Our approach: consent first
We only place non-essential cookies with your prior consent. When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept all, Reject all, or set your choices by category. Until you consent, only strictly necessary cookies are used, and any analytics or marketing scripts remain blocked.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
3. Categories of cookies
Strictly necessary — required for the website to function and to remember your cookie choices. These are always active and do not require consent.
Analytics — help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd), which sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visitors and measure usage. These are loaded only after you consent to the Analytics category and are not set if you reject them. Typical retention is up to 2 years; you can withdraw consent at any time via “Cookie preferences”.
Marketing — used to make content and any communications more relevant and to measure their effectiveness. Set only if you allow them.
Analytics runs only with your consent. Until you accept the Analytics category, no Google Analytics cookies are set and the script stays blocked.
4. Cookies we currently use
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
beethical_consent |
BeEthical (first-party) | Stores your cookie consent choices so we do not ask again on every page. | Strictly necessary | 180 days |
We self-host our fonts (Roboto) and the interactive map (MapLibre and its map data), so loading this website does not send requests to third-party content networks and does not set third-party cookies.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Beyond our banner, you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies and notify you when a cookie is set. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works. Guidance is available in the help pages of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or to legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will ask for your consent again. The “last updated” date above shows the current version.
